I have to confess, I’ve been waffling all over the place trying to decide on where to write about next. I think I’ve chosen Maine, because it’s September, and there is probably no more beautiful season on the Eastern Seaboard then Autumn. The pictures while capturing it, still doesn’t give you the feeling that it has. I admittedly loved Maine/New Hampshire. If they didn’t have winter, I’d be happy to live there.
Summer is of course a perfect time to travel to Maine, through personally I’d choose September & October for the beauty of Autumn; and then there’s the magic of a snow filled winter wedding, so when planning consider, the weather and your vision.
You’ll notice that most of the venues I list are Inn’s, and well that’s because this is also “who” Maine is. And it seems to me that this sort of venue would be why you are considering Maine in the first place.
If you’re looking for group bookings, contact to me and I’ll work with my contacts to put together an amazing package for you.
DO NOT FORGET – If you’re getting married, or renewing your vows, you will need a Marriage license and a justice of the peace, minister, officiant to make it all happen.
*Disclaimer – venue rentals are just a guideline.

I picked this this beautiful Inn because it personifies everything I love about the New England States. I mean, just look at this photo! So about the Lucerne Inn, it overlooks Phillips Lake and Bald Mountain just outside Bangor. The Inn is quintessentially Maine, filled with 200 years of history. The Overlook as shown above is perfect for both your ceremony and gorgeous photos. The reception can be held either indoors or outdoors with feature fireplaces, dance floors, and gorgeous views.

In my mind, the Chebeague Island Inn also qualifies as the quintessential Maine wedding location with the ocean as your backdrop. Rich in history, it offers unparalleled views and old-world charm, and is located on the largest island in Casco Bay, ME.
That means, it’s only accessible via ferry service from Portland and Yarmouth or by water taxi. They have a 21-room boutique hotel. Their 1920s era Great Room will inspire your guests to gather and visit. For your more active guests, there’s a 9-hole golf course, sandy beaches, free rental bikes, and tennis courts within walking distance.

No post would be complete if I didn’t cover Bar Harbor, I mean I live on the West Coast of Canada, and I’ve heard about it! Bar Harbor is pretty much Maine perfection, it’s a small beautiful ocean village with landscapes like you’ve never seen before.
Now about the Stone House Bar Harbor Regency, this venue will suite pretty much any type of event you could be planning, from birthdays to corporate affairs and definitely weddings. The best part about this venue is that you get the beautiful stone house, and the luxury facilities of a major hotel. Enjoy the spacious guestrooms, championship golf course, tennis courts, restaurants, swimming pools, and health club; all minutes from downtown Bar Harbor

This is basically Portland, since it’s only 2 miles outside of town. The Brick South still looks almost like it did in the 1800’s. You can recite your vows on the lawn overlooking the Fore River, or use utilize the unique architectural details here, from exposed brick and steel beams to concrete floors, and more. This space is both rustic and urban, steeped in history and forward-looking.

Mountain House on Sunday River had a lot of great reviews, and so I had to include it, plus it’s spectacular. This 50-acre estate borders the renowned Artist’s covered bridge and runs 1800′ along the Sunday River. The Estate includes onsite lodging in 2 large houses and includes a private Suite, for a total of 24 people to enjoy the laid back Maine feel and celebrate with your family, friends, or colleagues.

A beautiful barn was simply not something I could leave off the list of venues for Maine. I think they are fairly synonymous with Maine weddings. The Red Barn at Outlook Farm specializes in Wedding Ceremonies and Receptions year round, so pick your season. The grounds embody New England charm with picturesque settings any time of year. This pretty location offers a rustic feel with modern day amenities such as air conditioning, working fireplaces and a covered veranda.
