11 Gorgeous Hotels & Luxury Rentals – Whistler, BC

Having just finished Vancouver, BC, I thought that it was only fitting that I also cover Whistler, BC. The reality is that if you go to Vancouver, you’re going to want to go there as well for more than a day.

Located in the spectacular Coast Mountains of British Columbia just two hours north of Vancouver, Whistler is Canada’s favourite year-round destination. There are two majestic mountains with a vibrant base Village, epic skiing and snowboarding, four championship golf courses, unbeatable shopping, restaurants and bars, accommodation to suit every budget, hiking trails, spas and arguably the best mountain bike park in the world. 

Known for being an extremely well-rounded resort, Whistler-Blackcomb has everything you could ask for in a ski vacation destination. Voted #1 Overall Resort for 2016 by Ski Magazine, Whistler’s accolades just keep piling up. For some, though, the lively après-ski culture at Whistler is what sets it apart. From fine dining tours to cozy cabins offering mile-high nachos to clubs featuring world class DJs, Whistler has everything you need to party the night away during your ski-cation. 

If you aren’t into the whole winter, cold snow thing, Whistler is equally spectacular in the summer, with endless hiking trails, outdoor patios, amazing mountain biking trails, you can fill your day just as easily. So don’t just go in winter, go mid-summer that’s when I like to go, because you know, the whole snow, cold, winter thing!

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler

This five-pearl hotel from the Four Seasons brand caters to those seeking a luxurious mountain retreat. It’s a chalet-style experience, and full of luxe touches; cozy interior elements like lots of wood and exposed stone are accompanied by fine fabrics. Offering 291 spacious, tastefully decorated rooms, suites, and multi-bedroom residences, all with cozy fireplaces and quality amenities such as Nespresso machines. This five-pearl mountain retreat features a heated outdoor pool and three hot tubs, a top-notch fitness center and spa, and a steakhouse and bar. The location in Upper Village is a short drive from the lively Whistler Village, but it’s a short walk to the Peak 2 Peak Gondola lift up Whistler Blackcomb.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler Resort

This 550-room Fairmont Chateau is perched amid Bavarian-styled buildings just outside of Whistler Village, with magnificent views and close proximity to ski lifts. The interior decor is typical of a Fairmont, but with a mountain-esque twist — think crown molding meets exposed wooden beams and stone-tiled walls. The location in Upper Village location affords stunning views, peaceful roads and a 15 minute walk to Whistler Village. The two eucalyptus steam rooms and multiple Jacuzzis make it easy for guests to warm up after a day in the snow.

Chalet Akasha

Style:  Private Estate | Luxury | Indoor Pool | Ski in Access

Akasha is a stunning build equally impressive from the inside and out. Located near the top of Whistler Mountain’s highest development, Sunridge Plateau, the three-story home has nearly unmatched valley views from its top-level cupola. It’s just steps from the slopes, but once you get inside you may never want to leave. Whether it’s to get some exercise in the indoor lap pool, hammam steam room, and fitness room, or to relax in the library or home theater with a glass of wine from the private cellar. Heated floors are a plus during Whistler’s cold Canadian winters, and alfresco dining is an attractive option during the summer months. The home’s central feature is a 480-year-old Red Cedar tree rising from the foyer through the middle of the staircase.

As one of the closest hotels to the ski lifts, the Westin is a popular and lively place during the winter season, with 400 suites at the upscale Westin. The hotel’s central location near the ski lifts as well as restaurants, shops, and nightlife make it a popular place to stay — though this also means it can get crowded, leading to long queues for the mandatory ski valet (which incurs a daily fee) and crowds at the pool. The hotel offers great health and wellness facilities, including a modern gym and full spa, while dining options include a casual restaurant and cozy bar.

The Belmont Estate

Entertain 14+ guests across 7 bedrooms and over 8100 sqft of living space. There are 5 bedrooms in the main home with an additional 2 bedrooms + loft in the separate guest house. Chalet Solitude

Chalet Solitude, Whistler, is waiting for your arrival. This 10,000 square foot, seven-bedroom custom home, located in the private and exclusive Kadenwood ski-in/ski-out neighborhood.  Upon entering the custom copper door, it is evident that this bespoken home, is in a category of its own. The open concept first floor allows guests to choose their own adventure: relax in a grand living room and gas fireplace, enjoy a state of the art chef’s dream kitchen, dine with sixteen of your closest friends at a custom marble table, or unwind in your private whisky room or wine bar.

Heading down one floor; you enter a quaint study and play area. Through this room, you enter a child’s dream; three oversized queen-over-queen bunk beds, TV, bean bag chairs and ample room for playing and connecting with friends.
