11 Beautiful Hotels & Venues in Nassau, Bahamas

The Bahama’s, I’m sure you’re wondering why I would pick the Bahama’s right now. You’re thinking weren’t they just wiped out by hurricane Dorian? Yes, and No! Nassau and most of the Bahamian chain of islands was completely untouched. So don’t write it off just yet, plus by travelling to and spending your money there will help the country recover. So you get an amazing holiday and you are helping Bahamian people out at the same time.

In (2019) the Northwest Bahamas, the Islands that have no damage include the Bahamas capital of Nassau and neighboring Paradise Island, as well as Eleuthera, Harbour Island, Andros, Bimini and The Berry Islands. The Islands in the Southeastern and Central Bahamas remain unaffected, including The Exumas, Cat Island, San Salvador, Rum Cay, Long Island, Acklins/Crooked Island, Mayaguana and Inagua.

It’s really important to pay attention to the weather in the Bahamas, and since I just mentioned the whole hurricane thing! Avoid the rainy season starting in mid-May and hurricane season which overlaps most of the rainy reason which is June through November, though September & October seem to get hit the hardest. That being said, just don’t go until it’s over.

Compass Point Beach Resort
West Bay Street, Gambier, Nassau, New Providence, Bahamas

Style:  Hotel/Resort |Tropical | Waterfront | Eclectic Vibe | Casual

If you’re looking for a totally cool and relaxed vibe, Compass Point Beach Resort may be your resort! Its founder, Chris Blackwell (ok I admit I had no idea who he is either, but he introduced us to U2 and Bob Marley). Anyway, he wanted to combine the intimacy of a small property with a traditional simple country home residence common to his native country of Jamaica. Although development has crowded close to the borders of the property, they have preserved the natural setting of the property itself.

Experience sunset on their 120 foot pier, from their outdoor restaurant/bar or from the private deck of each room. The Junkanoo colors of the property are 100% Bahamian. In a nod to civilization’s conveniences, and our founder’s music industry roots, you’ll find air conditioned our “huts“, and a state of the art surround sound music system to every cabin.

Accommodations: Starting from $250 USD per night

Event Guest Capacities
Private Pier: 180 seated guests
Love Beach adjacent to the Resort (small groups only)
Restaurant Gazebo: 32 seated
