Well it’s time I headed across the Pacific and feature an Asian city. Why did I choose Bangkok as my first Asian city? Well simply because it is the most visited city in the world (5 years in a row), according to Mastercards 2019 Global Destination Cities Index; so who am I to ignore this global favourite?!
The weather is always warm, according to the World Meteorological Organisation, Bangkok is the world’s hottest city. The average temperature throughout the year is 28°C, but this jumps to a very humid 34°C between March and May. The best time to visit is between November and February, when the city enjoys cooler temperatures and bluer skies. Just keep in mind this is when everyone else goes there as well.
Like most major cities, Bangkok also has districts with 35 on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River, and 15 on the western bank. Sometimes this makes things easier when you’re making your way around, sometimes it’s overwhelming, so don’t let it mess with you. One last thing, if there’s one word you need to know it’s ‘Sawadee Krap/Kaa’ (translated as ‘Hello’ or ‘Greetings’) after that, well you’re on your own!
If you’re looking for group bookings, contact to me and I’ll work with my contacts to put together an amazing package for you.
Oh, and remember if you’re getting married, you will need to make it legal and means the following: Aside from your passport, the other important document required for a foreigner marrying in Thailand is the Affidavit of Freedom to Marry. This Affidavit must be secured from your Embassy in Thailand after you arrive. Once issued it must be translated to Thai and certified at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before heading to the local district office for the marriage registration. Siam Legal has the details.
