Well I’m back with another post covering British Columbia’s biggest city, Vancouver. We tend to refer the Lower Mainland as Vancouver, but the city itself is really not that big in square mileage. For the purposes of this post I am going only writing about Downtown Vancouver.
I spent the majority of my adult life living in Vancouver, and it is truly a beautiful city with much to offer and do, from its nightlife to the endless outdoor activities, most of which you can do year round. One of my favourite parts of Vancouver is the Sea Wall, a stone wall build around the perimeter of Stanley Park (making the top 10 list of biggest Urban parks in the world). During the ski season, you can spend the day exploring the city or eating in one of its many amazing restaurants, and then pop to one of three local mountains to do some night skiing!
Vancouver is a new city by global standards, “born” in 1886, she’s not even 150, and as we know when thousands of centuries pass, cities like Rome, Beijing and Paris have lost count so to speak. The appeal of this amazing west coast city is that it is still shiny and new, buildings like the Hotel Vancouver are our heritage buildings at only 80 years old. So you don’t get that sense of history, but you do get the hip, cool new kid on the block vibe. With fantastic world class shopping, hotels, a major cruise port and lots of outdoor activities, Vancouver will easily become a favourite!
As always they are in no particular order, and I’ve tried to give you a variety of styles; from the landmarks to the more modern icons of style.
If you’re looking for group bookings, contact to me and I’ll work with my contacts to put together an amazing package for you.
DO NOT FORGET – If you’re getting married, or renewing your vows, you will need a Visitors Visa and a Marriage License and a justice of the peace, minister, officiant to make it all happen. Double check with your countries consulate general to ensure that the marriage is recognized in your home country.

I hope that you’re now inspired to travel to Vancouver. I’ve only covered downtown Vancouver, if you’re thinking Whistler, then I don’t suggest staying downtown, unless you’re just doing a day trip. There are obviously many, many more to choose from with different ratings. However, I hope that one of these beautiful hotels inspires you to consider planning your next vacation to Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Maria | 12th Jan 20
It is a beautiful city, and I think those of us that are west coasters tend to take the water for granted. It is one of the most expensive cities in all of Canada! I wish you luck!

The elusive Vancouver. I got there once-almost! We were on an Alaskan cruise that was supposed to stop there but we literally stopped maybe a quarter mile from the port and “due to time” we were not allowed to disembark. Looking at this post reminds me I need to get there!
Maria | 14th Jan 20
Yes you do! Being that close to a new place and not being allowed to see it would be such a disappointment.
