9 Unforgettable Hotels & Venues – Tofino & Ucluelet, Vancouver Island, BC Canada

So now it’s time to cover the West Coast of Vancouver Island, as I mentioned in my Victoria post. Vancouver Island is a two hour ferry ride or 30 minute flight from the Lower Mainland (Vancouver). There are several airports to which you can fly if you’re aren’t driving. Please be aware that this is not a small little Island that you can zip around, in one day, from mile zero in Victoria to Port Hardy it’s 500km / 310 miles. And if you want to reach the very north end, I think there’s a forestry service road, for another…

13 Spectacular & Hotels & Venues – Victoria, BC Canada

It’s time I finally get to my home town, Victoria, BC. This is a favourite destination for millions of tourists and Canadians every year. And there’s nowhere else in Canada I’d live! It’s not only beautiful, but offers so much to do and experience. They don’t call it beautiful British Columbia for nothing. Oddly enough I’m not biased, I know, you don’t believe me, but I have lots of other places in the world that I love to travel to. However, I haven’t met anyone that doesn’t love it here. I’m going to cover Victoria and surrounding area (maximum a…

Cruising – get onboard with Celebrity Cruises

So I wasn’t planning on writing about cruise ships as an event destination quite yet; however, last night I had the opportunity to tour the Celebrity Solstice. Thank you Lenora Perry at Expedia Cruise Ship Center, for the invitation. Now I confess I’m a fan of Celebrity, but hadn’t seen the Solstice class of ships, so what was my overall impression? WOW! It’s gorgeous! I mean seriously, It’s currently doing the Seattle to Alaska run and I’ve done that trip, it’s both affordable and beautiful. Totally different from say the Caribbean, but really worth the experience. Watching the Hubbard glacier…

35 Memorable Activities to do in Hawaii

So you got there, the sun is warm, the beach is amazing…but seriously how much time can you spend doing that with friends and family in tow. Or if you’re like me, as a solo traveller. I’m all for getting a tan, but the older I get the shorter my patience for sun worship. To keep your group moving, here are things you can DO while in Hawaii, no matter what Island you’re on, so unless it’s specific to that Island (and I’ll mention that), it can be assumed that whether you’re on the Big Island, Maui, Oahu or Kauai…

10 Beautiful Hotels & Venues – The Big Island, Hawaii

And now for the Big Island. As the youngest (and still growing) island in the chain, the island of Hawaii has the most ecological diversity of all the Islands. Peak season is December and spring break. Having spent a week on the Big Island, I can see why people like it, however, the weather was brutal on most of the Island during my week. 2/3rds of the Island had severe flash flooding, the only dry spot was Kona. It impacted my plans to see everything, and it turns out, the city girl, needed more city that the Big Island offered….

9 Stunning Hotels & Venues -Kauai, Hawaii

9 Stunning Event Destinations

Today we move on to the third most popular Hawaiian Island, Kauai. The “Garden Island” is the oldest of the volcanic chain of islands, and is considered one of the most rural of the islands, known for its dramatic views and stunning scenery. Some of these locations are more about nature than glam, natural beauty is what Kauai offers! I think it’s safe to say that while it is incredibly beautiful this isn’t the Island for me, after experiencing both the Big Island and Oahu, I realize that personally, I want city access, not hiking trails. But so many of…
