So I have to confess that I’ve sort of avoided NYC up to this point, not because it isn’t an amazing city, but because to choose only a handful of hotels or so it exceedingly difficult. NY, much like Paris & London could have dozens of listings. However, that would be defeating the purpose of this blog. To help you narrow it down. If I list too many you may as well just google it, and as we know that’s just overwhelming and not helpful. My list includes hotels that are historically iconic and new on the scene (meaning 21st…
The last time I was in California I finally got myself to Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. It’s always been on the list, so this time I made a point of getting there (it’s a 4-5 hour or 200 mile drive from my cousins, so not exactly convenient). They are both beautiful small communities and make me want to go back; so now I finally get why people love this part of the California coastline. I would happily live in Carmel, and you can check out my recent adventures here! So with this inspiration I thought I’d give you some beautiful hotels…
Well, it’s officially Fall here in Victoria, it’s sunny today, but we’ve had major winds the last 24 hours, ferries were cancelled, power was lost by some, and trees/branches everywhere. I’ve haven’t stepped foot outside yet today, but it looks chilly, somewhere around 10c so yeah, chilly. I’m just not ready! And because of that, I hang on to the memories of my trip in early October, I took a road trip to warm, sunny California. I went down with my mom to visit family in the Sacramento area. Sacramento is more desert like, it gets quite cool there in…
I have to confess, I’ve been waffling all over the place trying to decide on where to write about next. I think I’ve chosen Maine, because it’s September, and there is probably no more beautiful season on the Eastern Seaboard then Autumn. The pictures while capturing it, still doesn’t give you the feeling that it has. I admittedly loved Maine/New Hampshire. If they didn’t have winter, I’d be happy to live there. Summer is of course a perfect time to travel to Maine, through personally I’d choose September & October for the beauty of Autumn; and then there’s the magic…
So you got there, the sun is warm, the beach is amazing…but seriously how much time can you spend doing that with friends and family in tow. Or if you’re like me, as a solo traveller. I’m all for getting a tan, but the older I get the shorter my patience for sun worship. To keep your group moving, here are things you can DO while in Hawaii, no matter what Island you’re on, so unless it’s specific to that Island (and I’ll mention that), it can be assumed that whether you’re on the Big Island, Maui, Oahu or Kauai…
And now for the Big Island. As the youngest (and still growing) island in the chain, the island of Hawaii has the most ecological diversity of all the Islands. Peak season is December and spring break. Having spent a week on the Big Island, I can see why people like it, however, the weather was brutal on most of the Island during my week. 2/3rds of the Island had severe flash flooding, the only dry spot was Kona. It impacted my plans to see everything, and it turns out, the city girl, needed more city that the Big Island offered….
